    MongoDB Performance In The Cloud

    Get PDF
Web applications are growing at a staggering rate every day. As web applications keep getting more complex, their data storage requirements tend to grow exponentially. Databases play an important role in the way web applications store their information. Mongodb is a document store database that does not have strict schemas that RDBMs require and can grow horizontally without performance degradation. MongoDB brings possibilities for different storage scenarios and allow the programmers to use the database as a storage that fits their needs, not the other way around. Scaling MongoDB horizontally requires tens to hundreds of servers, making it very difficult to afford this kind of setup on dedicated hardware. By moving the database into the cloud, this opens up a possibility for low cost virtual machine instances at reasonable prices. There are many cloud services to choose from and without testing performance on each one, there is very little information out there. This paper provides benchmarks on the performance of MongoDB in the cloud

Analysis of Patterns and Similarities in Service Tickets using Natural Language Processing

In this paper we propose an approach for classifying documents, embedding documents into feature vectors and using these embeddings for finding similarities between them. Our chosen domain for applying this method is the IT-Service Support branch, where the documents we try to analyse are support tickets and the potential of classifying and finding patterns between tickets is huge for optimizing the service process. We aim to tackle the problem with multiple methods of text classification and recognition, and data analysis, followed by comparison and interpretation of the results. Following our previous work in this field, we propose further means of validating our models, so we can describe and visualize several methods of feature extraction and recognition for service tickets that help the business process for Service Support

Rigidity Influence of Suspended Cable on Free Vibration Modes

The problem of vibration control of overhead line conductors subjected to laminar transverse wind, inducing stationary vibrations by Karmán effect is of high importance due to consequences upon these structures lifetime and service. We consider the cable model as Euler-Bernoulli beam that include the influence of cable rigidity and that respect the author condition which detaches the suspended cable model of the beam model with viscous, hysteretic or dry friction internal damping hypothesis. The original analytical expression of the free vibration modes and the resonance frequencies equation for the cable with clamped extremities has produced. Some experimental aspects are underlined in the paper

Neuroendocrine rectal tumour as a rare aetiology of adult recto-sigmoidal intussusception: case presentation and literature review

Intestinal intussusception is a frequent paediatric pathology, but adult cases are rare and do not have a specific presentation. In most cases adult intestinal intussusception, regardless of its localisation, is caused by an endoluminal tumour, which can be of multiple pathological types. We report a sigmoido-rectal intussusception in an adult in whom an adenoneuroendocrine tumour was identified as the lead point. This case is unique for the following reasons: (1) neuroendocrine tumours rarely involve the sigmoido-rectal segment of the gut, (2) clinical presentation with a recto-sigmoidal intussusception presented a diagnostic challenge
